Pet Resources
All pet lovers have to face the death of their pets, sooner or later.
But it will be hard to find solace and comfort. Other people don't understand what it's like - they say that "what's the big deal, it's just a dog" - But you and I know that the pain of loss that we feel is very deep and very real.
Intense grief over the loss of a pet is normal and natural. Don't let anyone tell you that it's silly, crazy, or overly sentimental to grieve. Other people don't understand that it's not just the loss through the death of your pet, but also the loss of companionship, comfort, security and love.
A POEM FOR THE GRIEVING...
Do not stand at my grave and weep.
I am not there, I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there, I did not die...
