| 1. | How to ROAR by Robin Jean Brown Touching ebook that describes a ROAR system of coping with pet loss grief.
I bought several books on pet bereavement, and while they were all good, this one was the best. I wrote out my answers to the Journaling Questions, and as I went through the book, I felt my pain subside and give rise to something new: a feeling of acceptance and an ability to focus on the happy memories of Marvin. I highly recommend this book for those suffering from the sadness of losing a pet. |

| 2. | When Only the Love Remains: The Pain of Pet Loss (Hardcover)
The author could have been writing about my own pet. Her sincere, honest portrayal of her feelings touched me so much that I was able to write down my own feelings on paper about a much loved and missed pet. It was like she knew me and my pet. I could feel her pain of her loss--it matched mine. Her book gave me so many things to think about. I recommend this book highly and plan to share it with others who need help healing with the loss of a pet. |

This book calls upon the experiences and suggestions of dozens of pet owners across the U.S. who have dealt with loss. It covers the following topics: Chapter 1: Understanding Your Loss
The chapter on emotional reactions helped me understand I was stuck in guilt.I had hung on to my beloved dog longer than I should have. Until I read the chapter I couldn't get past the self recriminations. The Coping Strategies showed me how to honour her by remembering the wonderful times and the bond we shared and to keep coming back to those memories when my guilt and remorse threatened to engulf me. Choosing a final resting place ended my mental torment about what to do with her precious body. I know I want "pet preservation" so that when I die our bodies can be together. When that can be done, I will at last feel at peace with her death. I still find comfort in the book 9 months after her death. |

| 4. | All God's Creatures Go To Heaven (Hardcover)

Even more so, were her questions on what her cousin would do in Heaven. How would she live without her mommy and daddy? In our search to help her to understand a little better, a friend showed us this book. It was just the nudge she needed to move on, and accept that her cousin was not coming back, and was safe and well cared for in Heaven. Now, 3 years later, my daughter still loves this book. She now reads it to her new baby sister, and tells her all about their cousin in Heaven, and how she too, is taking caring of animals. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is struggling to deal with a loss. |
